Our trained speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists evaluate and treat children with feeding and weight/growth difficulties. The child’s family is an integral component of successful feeding therapy.

Our primary treatment strategy for feeding difficulties is the Sequential-Oral-Sensory Approach (SOS) which was developed by Dr. Kay Toomey. Our goal is to address medical, behavioral, oral-motor and sensory aspects to feeding which may be disrupting your child’s ability to eat normally and to gain weight. According to your child’s particular needs, our therapists will refer to and collaborate with other specialists such as neurologists, GI physicians, your child’s pediatrician, and nutritionists for addressing all aspects of feeding.

Children who come to us for feeding therapy typically have diagnoses such as developmental delay, sensory integration disorder, oral-motor feeding difficulties, history of gastroesophageal reflux disorder (GERD), picky eaters, behavioral feeding issues, and neurological impairments.
